PurposeThe Emerging Markets Committee was formed with the goal of developing new opportunities in environmental markets; develop and support policies and initiatives that provide opportunities for NMBA members; seek opportunities for NMBA members in conservation banking, water quality trading, carbon offsets and other emerging markets; coordinate educational training efforts nationally and regionally; work to shape policies at the Fish & Wildlife Service; work to incorporate conservation banking into habitat conservation plans.Frequency

Protect and advance the interests of NMBA’s members. The Committee executes the Board’s strategic plan regarding lobbying and legislative issues; plan agenda items for lobbying visits; spearhead letter writing campaigns; track legislative issues; work with independent contractors; coordinate regional meetings with regulatory agencies. Tasks also include: completing and updating the existing survey and disseminating to members.

NMBA’s Marketing & Membership Committee was formed to communicate the benefits of mitigation banking; oversee the compilation and production of the NMBA newsletter; set and implement sponsorship and advertising policy; review and update the NMBA website; spearhead membership recruitment and retention efforts; develop and maintain membership target lists; develop and prepare membership packages; contact potential member leads; plan and execute fundraising events.
