FWS Compensatory Mitigation Policy 2016

The U.S. FWS released final revisions to its Mitigation Policy on November 21, 2016. The final policy acknowledges advances in conservation science, increasing habitat loss and the need for cost effective mitigation with proven and measurable ecological benefits. Importantly, the final policy establishes a landscape level approach for conservation planning and mitigation measures, encouraging advance mitigation plans.
